When removing the old part, take care not to scratch the housing in the cylinder or the guillotine shaft. When refitting, make sure the seal is perfectly flat and fully seated (using a socket of the appropriate diameter, for example), and above all that it is oriented correctly (the sealing lip must face inward, toward the side exposed to gas pressure). Take this opportunity to check the condition of the guillotine shaft: if it is marked or worn, the new seal will not be effective.
