PVC Superior Membrane – IAME X30 / KA100

This high precision membrane is an essential original part for the proper functioning of membrane carburetors (type Tillotson HB-27A or HW-27) equipping the engines IAME X30 and KA100. Located at the top of the carburettor, it acts as a pumping valve to bring gasoline from the tank to the engine.

Characteristics Technical:

  • Reference View Scattered: Position R8 (see attached diagram).

  • Compatibility Engine: IAME 125cc X30, KA100 Reedjet.

  • Carburettor type: Range HB / HW (Diameter 27mm).

  • Material: Technical PVC (Blue or transparent according to series) offering excellent responsiveness to the pulses of the lower motor.

  • Function: Fuel intake flow management by integrated valve system.

The Magickart Commitment: A distorted membrane is an immediate loss of power.

Michel's Council (Magickart): The importance of R8

"The R8 membrane is the real 'lung' of your carburetor. My expert advice: If your kart can't start cold or choke at acceleration, look no further, it's often this room that's tired. PVC eventually hardens with time and gasoline, losing its flexibility.

Products that go well together:

  • Main Membrane (R10): You never change one without the other to go back on a healthy basis.

  • Paper seals (R7 and R11): Essential for perfect sealing.

  • The pointer (R18/R51): If your membranes are new but the carbide leaks, check your tip.

A little pro secret: Always keep a membrane kit R32 / R194 Complete in your caisse. At Magickart, we know that a membrane can drop between two sleeves, so we deliver them to you at the lowest price in Europe so you can always be ahead!"

How to change your R8 membrane?

Changing your membranes is a simple operation that requires rigour. Here's how:

  1. Cleaning: Before opening the carbide, clean the exterior with the brake cleaner so that no dust falls inside.

  2. Dismantling: Unscrew the upper screws (R1 or R5 depending on the model). Remove the hood (R2) and flange (R6).

  3. Identification: Watch the stacking order. The membrane R8 is taken in "sandwich" between joints and flanges.

  4. Replacement: Remove the old membrane. If glued, do not scratch with a screwdriver (risk of scratching the joint plane), use some gasoline to take it off. Put the news down R8 Flat.

  5. Reassembly: Squeeze the screws progressively so as not to pinch the membrane and ensure uniform sealing.

Why is it so important? A membrane in good condition guarantees constant trigger pressure. If it is relaxed or pierced (even invisible), your engine will be too poor (risk of tightening) or too rich (congestion). It's the number one piece to check for a little onion carburation!
